Vodka in My Coffee is the story of one woman’s quest to have it all, or give it all up, depending on the day.
My name is Amy Galvin. I’m a cross between a total boss lady working her butt off in the city of Chicago and a suburban housewife. Those are my two modes – athleisure-wearing mom or cosmopolitan working woman. I always have one part of my brain at home and the other part at the office. I know I’m not alone.
I’m a former mommy blogger (back in the day when it was just getting started) who went on hiatus from blogging to focus on my family and career. There just weren’t enough hours in the day for extracurricular activities like writing for pleasure. Now my kids are older, I’ve learned a thing or two, and I’m ready to put myself out there again.
I’ve been married for almost thirteen years to my husband, Aaron. I have two daughters who are in elementary school. When I’m at home, my kids keep me very busy juggling play dates, school work, dance, gymnastics, and tennis lessons. I also have a dog who is very cute, but definitely doesn’t get as much attention as she deserves.
I am the co-founder and managing partner of Luxury Living Chicago Realty, a boutique, luxury real estate brokerage focused on residential rentals. Luxury Living Chicago has been recognized three years in a row by Inc. magazine on its annual Inc. 5000, an exclusive ranking of the nation’s fastest-growing private companies. Prior to starting Luxury Living Chicago Realty, I worked at the top public relations agencies in Chicago.
Work–life balance is a concept including proper prioritizing between “work” (career and ambition) and “lifestyle” (health, pleasure, leisure, family and spiritual development/meditation). Everyday I strive to find the balance. I hope to help you find some too.
