October 2017 brings the second recommendation in The Vodka in My Coffee Virtual Book Club! Each month, I’ll share a book I love with you.
This month’s book selection is by a very popular author, Liane Moriarty. Moriarty is an author from Australia. I’ve read all of her books and devour them each time she releases a new one. This summer, Moriarty’s book Big Little Lies was made into a beautiful and intense miniseries on HBO starring Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Shailene Woodley and Zoey Kravitz. If you haven’t read that book, I highly recommend you do. The television show was a bit different from the book.
However, Big Little Lies is not the book I’m recommending for October 2017.
The October 2017 Book Club Recommendation is…
The first book I ever read of Moriarty’s was What Alice Forgot and I have to tell you, it’s one of my favorite books of all time. Whenever someone asks me for a book recommendation this is my go-to. I won’t say much about the plot line because I don’t want to spoil it, but it has lots of twists like all of Moriarity’s other books. What Alice Forgot was originally published in 2009. I think I read it in 2013.
In 2015 there were rumors that Jennifer Aniston was going to play the part of Alice in the movie version, but that was some time ago and it hasn’t happened yet. Although, I can definitely see this being made into a movie or special series on HBO now that Big Little Lies was such a hit.
If you want an entertaining read that will keep you engaged I definitely recommend What Alice Forgot. It’s great for reading on vacation or replacing TV time with a good book.
